SCIM - Okta Configuration Instructions (Pre-release version)

This integration with Okta is currently under development and is not yet available to customers.
Introduction
This guide explains how to configure SCIM-based user provisioning between Okta and MetaCompliance. With SCIM integration, Okta can automatically create, update, and deactivate users in MetaCompliance.
⚠️ Note: This guide does not cover Single Sign-On (SSO). SSO is managed separately and not enabled within this application.
Supported Features
The following provisioning features are supported:
- Create Users
- Update User Attributes
- Deactivate Users
Requirements
To enable provisioning, you'll need:
- A valid API Token
- Your assigned Company Key
- Your regional Environment Code (see table below)
Region Codes
When configuring the integration, you must enter the region code matching your MetaCompliance tenant. Use the table below:

How to Configure
Step 1: Getting Started & App Settings
- Navigate to Applications → Applications → Browse App Catalogue → Search for MetaCompliance → Add Integration.
- Enter the following:
- Region code
- Company key (Paste the company key provided.)
- Click Done.
Step 2: Enable Provisioning Features
In Okta:
- Go to the Provisioning tab → To App.
- Click Edit under the Provisioning to App section.
- Ensure the following boxes are checked:
- ✔️ Create Users
- ✔️ Update User Attributes
- ✔️ Deactivate Users
- Save the configuration.
- Navigate to Integration → Edit.
- Enter API Token.
- Check Import Groups.
- Click Test API Credentials, and a success notice will appear. (If the test fails, contact MetaCompliance Support.)
- Click Save
Step 3: Assign Users and Groups
To assign individual users:
- Go to your app's Assignments tab.
- Click Assign → Assign to People.

Select a user → Assign → Done.
To assign groups:
- Go to Assignments → Assign to Groups.
- Choose your group → Assign → Done.
Supported Attributes
MetaCompliance supports a defined set of SCIM attributes, which can be viewed under: Provisioning → MetaCompliance Attribute Mappings.
Mandatory: The following attributes are required.
Optional: The attributes below are optional. If you do not want the particular attributes to sync into MetaCompliance, you can remove them by clicking on the X.
Known Issues
- Assigning users without required attributes will cause provisioning to fail.
- Incorrect region codes will prevent API credential validation.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| "Invalid Credentials" error | Ensure the API token and region code are correct. |
| Users are not being provisioned. | Confirm the provisioning features are enabled. |
| Users show as "Pending" in Okta. | Check for missing required fields. |
| The app is not visible in the Okta catalogue. | Create the app manually using SCIM template. |
