Can users repeat courses?
Yes. Courses can be automatically reassigned to users on a recurring schedule after their initial completion. This helps keep users continuously up to date with topics and regulations that require regular refresher training.
How to enable course repetition
When assigning a course to users, select Recur on Anniversary during setup. Once enabled, you'll be able to define the number of months after completion before the user is reassigned the same course.
For example, a 6-month recurrence means the course will be reassigned exactly 6 months after the user's previous completion.
Reporting on repeated completions
To see how many times a user has been assigned or has completed a course, open the Learning Overview report and look at the Occurrence column. Each row shows the number of times the course has been assigned or completed by that user.
This is useful when:
- Auditing whether recurring training is functioning as configured
- Confirming a specific user's training history across multiple cycles
- Reporting on long-term engagement with mandatory training
Common questions
What happens if a user hasn't completed the previous occurrence? – The course cannot be re-assigned to a user until they complete. User remains uncompliant until the initial assignment has been completed.
Can the recurrence period be changed after assignment? – Yes, for existing anniversary courses the time period can be amended. It is not possible to change a standalone course to be repeated via anniversary, the course must be recreated.
Does the user receive a notification when reassigned? – If email alerts have been enabled for the course then yes, the user will receive an email alert the required number of months after their initial completion.
