Register Management - How do I add, delete and hide Register fields?

To add or delete register fields, navigate to Tools > Privacy > Register Management, where you will see a list of existing registers. 

  • Click on the 'Edit' button beside the relevant register to open the 'Register Editor' page. 
  • Next, click on the relevant tab that you want to customise.

1. Add a New Field

At the bottom of each section, you will find a blue 'Add field by type' button. 

  • Select a relevant field type from the available list, as shown below:
    • Text Input
    • Textbox
    • Single Select
    • Multi Select
    • Radio Button
    • Date Picker
    • File Upload

  • Once a field has been added, select the 'Pencil' icon to edit it.

  • From here, you can update the Field Name. 
  • For Single Select, Multi Select and Radio Button field types, you can also enter new drop-down options for both Register text and Survey text.

To add a new drop-down option:

  • Click the green 'Add Option' button - a new option drop-down will appear. 
  • Click into the Register Text and Survey Text fields; delete the information shown and enter your own text.
  • Click the blue 'Tick' icon to confirm your new option.
  • Finally, click Save & Close to apply your changes.

2. Delete a Field

  • To delete a field, click the 'Dustbin' icon beside it.

  • A warning message will appear asking you to confirm deletion.
  • Important: If the field has already been used in a survey or data entity, deleting it will result in the loss of that data.
  • Tip: You can check whether a field has previously been responded to by searching within Privacy Reporting.

3. Hide a Field

  • To hide a field, click the 'Pen' icon, then uncheck the 'Visible' button in the Edit Field pop-up window. 
  • Remember to click Save & Close to apply your changes.

  • Hiding a field will remove it from view within the main register page. 
  • In Register Management, any fields with a green dot are visible, while those with a red dot are hidden

  • Note: When you've finished customising the register, don't forget to save the overall register by clicking Save at the top or bottom of the Register Editor.
