Register Management - How do I add, delete and hide Register fields?
To add or delete register fields, navigate to Tools > Privacy > Register Management, where you will see a list of existing registers.
- Click on the 'Edit' button beside the relevant register to open the 'Register Editor' page.
- Next, click on the relevant tab that you want to customise.
1. Add a New Field
At the bottom of each section, you will find a blue 'Add field by type' button.
- Select a relevant field type from the available list, as shown below:
- Text Input
- Textbox
- Single Select
- Multi Select
- Radio Button
- Date Picker
- File Upload
- Once a field has been added, select the 'Pencil' icon to edit it.
- From here, you can update the Field Name.
- For Single Select, Multi Select and Radio Button field types, you can also enter new drop-down options for both Register text and Survey text.
To add a new drop-down option:
- Click the green 'Add Option' button - a new option drop-down will appear.
- Click into the Register Text and Survey Text fields; delete the information shown and enter your own text.
- Click the blue 'Tick' icon to confirm your new option.
- Finally, click Save & Close to apply your changes.
2. Delete a Field
- To delete a field, click the 'Dustbin' icon beside it.
- A warning message will appear asking you to confirm deletion.
- Important: If the field has already been used in a survey or data entity, deleting it will result in the loss of that data.
- Tip: You can check whether a field has previously been responded to by searching within Privacy Reporting.
3. Hide a Field
- To hide a field, click the 'Pen' icon, then uncheck the 'Visible' button in the Edit Field pop-up window.
- Remember to click Save & Close to apply your changes.
- Hiding a field will remove it from view within the main register page.
- In Register Management, any fields with a green dot are visible, while those with a red dot are hidden.
- Note: When you've finished customising the register, don't forget to save the overall register by clicking Save at the top or bottom of the Register Editor.
