Beta - What is a Learning Pathway?

A Learning Pathway automatically assigns tailored training courses to users based on their individual learning level and needs.

For administrators, identifying which users should receive which course can be challenging. Users may also disengage when content is not relevant to their skill level. Learning Pathways solve this by delivering personalised training journeys for every user.

How Learning Pathways Work

Simple Option

Create an assessment using our bank of over 1,000 questions and assign it to your users.

Based on the score achieved, the system will automatically assign the most appropriate course. This ensures learners receive training at the right level.

Example:

  • User scores 20% → Assigned High Risk course
  • User scores 50% → Assigned Medium Risk course
  • User scores 100% → Assigned Low Risk course

Enhanced Option

In addition to the assessment, you can enable a Smart Path question to provide another layer of personalisation. This question can be tailored to your requirements, giving users a customised route based on their response.

Depending on the user’s answer, they may:

  • Skip the assessment and proceed directly to a specific course linked to their Smart Path response
  • Complete the assessment, and then be directed to a course based on both their Smart Path response and assessment score
  • Complete the assessment and then be directed to a course based their assessment score

This approach creates a more dynamic and personalised learning experience.

External Capabilities

For organisations using a third party LMS but still wanting to benefit from MetaCompliance training content and personalisation, the entire Learning Pathway can be exported as a SCORM package.

The SCORM package can include:

  • Smart Path question
  • Assessment
  • Up to 30 course options

All bundled into a single zip file as a SCORM Transfer course.

Languages

Smart Path questions, assessments, and course content can be created in up to 46 languages, ensuring accessibility for global teams.

Reporting: MyCompliance

Within the MyCompliance platform, reporting includes:

  • Overall Learning Pathway completion summary
  • Detailed assessment analytics, including questions answered and scores achieved
  • Employee results table showing:
    • Pathway completion status
    • Assessment responses
    • Assigned course
    • Course progress

Reporting: External LMS

Reporting within third party LMS platforms may be limited due to SCORM restrictions. However, we use the cmi.suspend_data attribute to communicate:

  • The Smart Path option selected by the user
  • The course assigned based on their response

This ensures essential data is still captured and passed back to your LMS.

Learning Pathways can currently only be completed through a third-party LMS, but this feature will soon be available in the MyCompliance system.
