Bulk delete users

Easily delete inactive or unauthorised users by uploading a spreadsheet. This feature ensures a smooth and secure deletion process with built-in validation and error handling.

  • Under 'User Actions', click on Bulk Remove Users, and a slide-out modal will appear to upload your spreadsheet of users for deletion.

  1. Upload & Validate: Upload a spreadsheet of users for deletion. The system checks if all emails exist.
  2. Disable & Prepare: Users are first disabled (if not already), and their email is updated with ".old."
  3. Automated Deletion: A background job securely removes users within a few days.
  4. Limits & Access: Bulk deletion is capped at 500 users per upload. Only authorised users can access this feature.

When submitting a CSV or Excel file, please follow these guidelines:

  • Only Federated or Email-based users can be bulk removed.
  • Enter ‘EmailAddress’ (with no spaces) as the header in cell A1.
  • List only the usernames of the users you want to delete beneath the header.
  • Ensure that each entry matches the corresponding username on the platform.
  • Users assigned Privacy content cannot be bulk removed.
  • Each file can contain a maximum of 500 users.
  • Selected users will be queued for deletion and permanently removed from the system within 48 hours.
  • This action cannot be undone. Please confirm that you want to proceed with this deletion before submitting your file.
