Bulk Delete Users

Easily delete inactive Email-based or Federated users by uploading a spreadsheet. This feature ensures a smooth and secure deletion process with built-in validation and error handling.

  • Under User Actions, click on Bulk Remove Users. A slide-out modal will appear, allowing you to upload your spreadsheet of users for deletion.


How It Works

  1. Upload & Validate: Upload a spreadsheet containing the users you wish to remove. The system will verify that all email addresses exist on the platform.
  2. Disable & Prepare: Users are first disabled (if they are not already), and their email is updated with ".old."
  3. Automated Deletion: A background job will securely delete the users within a few days.
  4. Limits & Access: Bulk deletion is capped at 500 users per upload, and only authorised users can access this feature.

File Requirements

When submitting a CSV or Excel file, please follow these guidelines:

  • Only Federated or Email-based users can be bulk removed.
  • Enter EmailAddress (with no spaces) as the header in cell A1.
  • List only the usernames of the users you want to delete beneath the header.
  • Ensure each entry matches the corresponding username stored on the platform.
  • Users who are assigned Privacy content cannot be bulk removed.
  • Each file can contain a maximum of 500 users.
  • Selected users will be queued for deletion and permanently removed from the system within 48 hours.
  • This action cannot be undone. Please confirm that you wish to proceed with this deletion before submitting your file.
