Course Duration

To ensure your users have assigned adequate time to complete a course, you can use the Approx. Course Duration functionality to indicate how long it may take to complete.

This can be updated for courses in a Create and Publish state and will be visible to end users on both the platform and the MyCompliance Teams app.

Assigning a Course Duration

During the Publish phase, the course creator can insert an expected duration for a Fusion or SCORM course.

(a) Fusion Courses

The sum of the videos included in the course can be viewed by navigating to Course Publish > Settings > and clicking Save.

If a course includes a quiz, no time is automatically assigned for this. To account for quiz completion, you can manually add extra time to the Approx. Course Duration before publishing the course.

(b) SCORM Courses

You can insert your preferred duration while uploading the SCORM package by navigating to SCORM Publish > Settings.

Viewing the Course Duration

For end users, this information will be populated on the Approx. Duration column:

Published Courses

For courses published before February 2025 (prior to this functionality being available), an Approx. Duration may already be populated; however, you can edit it as required.

(a) Fusion Courses

The sum of the Nano videos included in the course will be automatically displayed as the Approx. Duration.

To edit:

  • Navigate to Learning in Progress, locate the required course and select View Course.
  • Go to the Settings tab, scroll down to Approx. Course Duration, and edit as required.
  • Once complete, click Update Course and enter a reason for the update.

(b) SCORM Courses

As the duration of custom SCORM courses cannot be determined automatically, this will be displayed as Not Provided by default.

To update:

  • Navigate to Learning in Progress and locate the required course.
  • Select View Course.
  • Go to the Settings tab, scroll down to Approx. Course Duration, and edit as required.
  • Once complete, click Update Course and enter a reason for the update.
