How does the Engagement Risk Score work?

The Engagement Risk Score is a valuable metric that helps measure employee interactions with assigned content. This score provides insight into how effectively employees engage with the policies, surveys and courses targeted to them and can contribute to a broader understanding of their overall risk profile.

How is the Engagement Risk Score calculated?

The score is calculated using the following formula:

  • (Number of Content Targeted/ Engagement Risk Factor Weight) x Content Not Completed = Engagement Risk Score

To break it down:

  • Number of Content Targeted: The number of pieces of content users have been targeted with, i.e. policies, surveys & courses.

  • Engagement Risk Factor Weight: The proportion that the engagement score contributes to your total risk score.
  • Number of Content Not Completed: The total amount of content assigned to you.

Example Calculation

Let’s take a closer look at an example:

  1. Content Targeted: 10 pieces of content assigned and targeted to the user.

  2. Weight: The Engagement Risk Score contributes 20% of the total risk score.
  3. Completed Content: The user has completed 5 pieces of content.

Using the formula, the Engagement Risk Score would be calculated as follows:

  • (10 Content Targeted/20% Weight) × 5 Completed Content = 10
  • In this example, the user's Engagement Risk Score is 10.

Why is this important?

The Engagement Risk Score provides a clear indicator of how consistently you engage with assigned content. This is essential for understanding areas where you may need to focus more effort to reduce your overall risk profile. By completing more assigned content, you can improve your engagement score and, in turn, contribute positively to your total risk score.

By actively engaging with targeted content, employees can take control of their Engagement Risk Score and enhance overall performance.

Please note: A Risk calculation time period can be set for content targeted to users between the last 1-3 years. Content will need to have risk scores enabled before they can contribute to the users risk score.
