Best practice when formatting Privacy & Incident assessment guidance

We have introduced enhanced formatting capabilities for Privacy and Incident Assessment guidance notes. This improvement leverages a new editor that enables more precise and professional formatting.

When adding new questions or updating existing ones, guidance text (up to 2000 characters) can now be formatted to help users easily follow instructions and guidelines, resulting in higher‑quality responses from end users.

Clicking on the Edit icon (or adding new questions) within the Privacy or Incident Assessment Creator allows you to apply the following formatting options:

  • Bullet Points: Organise guidance into clear, easy-to-read bullet points to improve clarity and comprehension.
  • Paragraph Formatting: Structure your guidance into well-defined paragraphs for improved readability.
  • Text Styling: Utilise bold text and underline features to highlight key information or important instructions.
  • Hyperlinks: Insert clickable hyperlinks to guide users to additional resources, websites or supporting materials, such as videos from the MyCompliance Library.

💡 Top tip

After copying and pasting a hyperlink into the guidance, double-click the link, select Target choose New Window, then click OK. This ensures that when a user clicks the link, it opens in a new browser window rather than navigating them away from the assessment.
