Send Phishing Report Confirmation Emails

Phishing Report Confirmation Emails deliver a quick thank-you email confirming when users report a simulation. Positive feedback at the moment of success reinforces good reporting habits and builds confidence in the Report button.

This applies whichever report method your users use, including the MetaCompliance report buttons and the Microsoft Report button.

This setting is off by default. No emails are sent until an Admin+ user turns on Send Phishing Report Confirmation Emails in Company Edit.

How it works

When a user reports a phishing simulation, MetaCompliance checks whether the setting is on for your company. If it is, the user receives the Simulated Phish Report – Positive Feedback email in their preferred language.

The email is only sent for phishing simulations. Reports of real emails don’t trigger it.

Turn on confirmation emails

You need to be an Admin+ user to change this setting.

  1. Go to Settings > Company Edit.
  2. Turn on Send Phishing Report Confirmation Emails.
  3. Select Save.

To stop the emails, turn the setting off and save.

Customise the email

The email uses an editable template, so you can change the wording to suit your organisation. Your changes are stored for the language you’re editing.

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications > Email Templates.
  2. Select the language you want to edit from the language selector.
  3. Open the 'Please Choose Template' dropdown and select Simulated Phish Report – Positive Feedback.
  4. Edit the subject line and email body.
  5. Select Save.

You must select a language before you can choose a template. To customise the email for more than one language, repeat these steps for each language.

Languages

The template is available in all the languages MetaCompliance supports. Users receive the email in their preferred language. If there’s no version in a user’s preferred language, they receive the English version.

Frequently asked questions

Do users get this email for real phishing reports?

No. The email is sent when a user reports a phishing simulation.

Which report methods trigger the email?

All of them. Reports made with the MetaCompliance report buttons and the Microsoft Report button both trigger the email when the setting is on.

Can I change who the email comes from?

If you’ve set a custom email sending address, the email is sent from that address. If not, it’s sent from the platform default address. Your From address is clearly shown in the email template editor.

Can I edit the email in languages other than English?

Yes. Select the language, choose the template, and edit the subject and body. The change applies to that language only.
