Home Page: Frequently Asked Questions
A plain-language guide for admins using the Home Page in MyCompliance.
About the Home Page
Q: What does the Home Page show?
A: It's a single-screen view of your organisation's compliance position inside MyCompliance, refreshed every 1 hour. It brings together what content is live, what's coming up next, how your users are engaging, and where risk sits — all in one place, so you don't have to pull separate reports or move between different screens.
Q: Why was it built?
A: Admins told us that getting a clear picture of compliance took too long. Information was scattered across the system, reports often had to be built and exported manually, and it was hard to see what was live or scheduled. The Home Page pulls everything together to save time and help you respond to risks faster.
Q: How often does the data update?
A: The Home Page refreshes every 1 hour, so it shows a snapshot rather than a live, second-by-second feed. If you need the latest figures sooner, use the Refresh button to pull current data on demand. Behind the scenes the data is cached, which is why the screen loads quickly even when several admins open it at once.
Q: Where do I start when I log in?
A: Begin with the two cards at the top: Organisational Risk and Upcoming Events. They give you the headline view of where attention is needed and what's coming up. Then move down to the detailed metrics for Phishing, Learning, and Usage.
The Top Cards
Q: What does the Organisational Risk card show?
A: It shows the proportion of your users sitting at High, Medium, or Low risk. Users with no risk aren't shown, so you're always looking at the people who may need attention. The legend tells you, for each level, how many users are in it and what percentage that represents.
Q: Why can't I see users with no risk on that card?
A: This is by design — the card focuses your attention on users who carry a level of risk. Bear in mind that "no risk" doesn't mean a user is safe; it usually means they haven't been sent any content yet, so a risk score hasn't been calculated for them. You'll see a "We don't include non risk users in these statistics" note as a reminder.
Q: What if my risk chart is empty?
A: An empty chart means none of your users have a risk score yet — often simply because content hasn't been sent to them — rather than a sign that everyone is risk-free. I
Q: What if my risk chart says risk data is disabled?
A: If you see a message that risk data is disabled, it means risk scoring is switched off — use the "Go to Settings" button on the card to turn it on, and the breakdown will start to appear.
Q: What if I only have Phishing or only have Learning?
A: Organisational Risk is calculated from both your phishing and your learning data, so it only appears if you have both. With just one of them, the Risk card isn't available.
Q: What does the Upcoming Events card show?
A: It shows the content scheduled to go out over the next 90 days, broken down by month. This helps you see what your users will receive and when, so you can plan and avoid overloading them.
Q: What if nothing is scheduled?
A: The card will show a "No content yet" message and give you a button to create a new simulation or course, so you can get something planned straight away.
Understanding the Metrics
Q: Can I change the time period the metrics cover?
A: Yes. The performance metrics can be filtered by day range: 30, 90, 180, 360 days, or All, with the last 90 days as the default. This range applies to your phishing and learning performance metrics (Reporting Rate, Phish Interaction, and Completion Rate). Always check which range you're viewing before drawing conclusions, as those numbers relate to that period.
Q: How do the time period filter work?
A: The filter works on the campaign or course start date, not the date a user acted.
When you choose a range, we include every campaign and course that started inside it, and count all of their activity. Anything that started earlier is excluded completely — even if a user reported a phish or completed a course during the period.
For example, on a 30-day view, a phish reported three days ago won't appear if its campaign started 35 days ago.
Choose All to see everything regardless of start date.
Q: Why don't some cards change when I adjust the date range?
A: Several cards always show your current position rather than a time period, so the date range doesn't apply to them: Organisational Risk, Upcoming Events, Non-compliant Users, Users, and Breaches. Non-compliant Users, for example, is a simple yes/no status — a user either completed their courses on time or they didn't — so a date range can't change it.
Q: What does Phishing Reporting Rate mean?
A: It's the percentage of simulated phishing emails your people actively reported using the MetaCompliance Phish button in Outlook. A higher rate is a good sign — it shows staff are spotting and flagging suspicious emails.
Q: What does Phish Interaction mean?
A: It's the number of users who had a negative interaction with a phishing simulation — clicking a link, scanning a QR code, opening an attachment, or filling in a form. These are the people who would have been caught by a real attack, so they're worth focusing training on. A lower number is better.
Q: What does Learning Completion Rate mean?
A: It's the percentage of users who have completed all of the mandatory courses assigned to them. It measures full compliance with mandatory training, not partial progress.
Q: What does Non-compliant Users mean?
A: A user is marked non-compliant if they did not complete their mandatory course on time. This is your list of people who fell behind. Once they complete their course they will not be marked in this metric.
Q: What do the Usage Metrics tell me?
A: There are two:
- Users shows how many of your purchased licences are currently in use, which helps with capacity planning.
- Breaches comes from MetaCompliance's Exposure Monitoring and flags accounts that have appeared in known data breaches, along with the number of accounts affected.
Q: Why does the Phishing or Learning area say to contact my sales manager?
A: If you see the message "To enable the feature please contact your sales manager," that feature isn't part of your current plan. Contact your MetaCompliance representative to enable it.
Q: I've seen some of these figures on other screens — are they the same numbers?
A: Yes. The Home Page surfaces statistics that also appear on other screens in MyCompliance, just in one easy-to-reach place. The figures are the same — the Home Page simply makes them quicker to find.
What the Active Areas Show
Q: What are Active Simulations?
A: This is an expandable area with a card for each of your live phishing campaigns. Each card shows the campaign name, when it was published, and how many users interacted with it.
Q: What are Active Courses?
A: This is an expandable area with a card for each of your live courses. Each card shows the course name, when it was published, and how many users have completed it. Mandatory courses are marked with a tag so you can tell them apart at a glance.
Drilling Down and Taking Action
Q: How do I get from a headline number to the detail behind it?
A: Click the card. Many cards drill straight through to the supporting detail in one step:
- Organisational Risk → Users Risk Insights (in the Risk Dashboard)
- Upcoming Events → the campaign's Phish edit page or the course's edit page
- Each Active Simulation card → that campaign's Phish Audit page
- Each Active Course card → that course's Audit page
- Breaches → the Exposure Monitoring page.
Q: Is there a quick way to see just my highest-risk users?
A: Yes. In the Organisational Risk legend, each level is clickable and opens Users Risk Insights already filtered to that level. Click "High Risk" to jump straight to your highest-priority users.
Q: Are all cards clickable?
A: No. Reporting Rate, Phish Interaction, Completion Rate, Non-Compliance Users, and the Users card are summary figures and don't drill down. The clickable cards (listed above) are your route into the underlying detail.
Q: How should I act on what I see?
A: A few starting points:
- Review and prioritise High Risk users first.
- If reporting is low and phish interaction is high, focus on phishing awareness training.
- If the Breaches card shows affected accounts, open the Exposure Monitoring page and take steps to secure those users.
- Use Upcoming Events to plan your programme and avoid overloading users.
This Release
Q: Who can see the Home Page?
A: Anyone with access to the admin portal can see the Home Page. Access for business users (non-admins) isn't available in this release.
Q: What happened to my old Home Page?
A: The Home Page replaces the previous view. That screen had limited functionality while the new view now brings the useful information into one place and adds much more.
Q: Can I customise the Home Page or choose my own cards?
A: Not in this release. The current version gives you a fixed, carefully chosen set of cards.
Q: What's included in this first release?
A: A fixed set of cards covering your live content, upcoming campaigns, and key performance indicators — completion rates, phishing trends, and risk scores — with the ability to drill down into the supporting detail.
