How to send an email Alert for content in the user's preferred language?
We have recently released the ability to send users an email notification for a course, policy or survey in their preferred language.
Using this new functionality will enable you to increase engagement amongst your users, as their emails will be delivered to their inbox in their preferred language.
If a user’s preferred language is not available, they will default to the English version of the email.

Available Email Templates

How to enable this new feature (Course, Policy & Survey)
This is not a universal setting; therefore, you can enable this on the relevant course, policy or survey as and when required.
- To use the option, create your content as normal, and then navigate to the 'Email' tab.
- Within the 'Email' tab, select the 'Send in Users Preferred Language?' checkbox.
- Once this has been selected, a new 'Language' drop-down will appear on that page and, from this, you will now be able to view all available languages in which the alert email can be sent.
- From here, you can switch between each language, as well as make any relevant changes.
- Note: The available languages will reflect the languages that have been enabled on your platform. Only languages that exist as a user's preferred language will be sent. Where a preferred language is not available, the user will receive the English version of the email.
How to enable this new feature (Campaigns)
The same process applies to Campaigns; however, the option is in a different location.
- To use the option, create your content as normal; then, add this into the relevant Campaign, and navigate to the Settings 'Cog' icon > View Email.
- Within the 'Email' pop-out modal, select the 'Send in Users Preferred Language?' checkbox. Once this has been selected, a new language drop-down will appear on the page.
- Via this, you will now be able to view all available languages in which the alert email can be sent.
- From here, you can switch between each language, as well as make any relevant changes.
- Note: The available languages will reflect the languages that have been enabled on your platform. Only languages that exist as a user's preferred language will be sent. Where a preferred language is not available, the user will receive the English version of the email.

FAQs
1. Can I enable this option for courses, policies or surveys that have already been sent to users?
Yes, you can locate the required content within the relevant ‘In Progress’ table and enable this option.
- Navigate to the required Module > In Progress; select the required content, and click View.
- Next, select the 'Email' tab and tick the 'Send in Users Preferred Language?' checkbox.
Any new users that are targeted, or any reminder emails due to be sent, will be sent in the user's preferred language.
2. Can I still customise the emails even though they are now available in all languages?
Yes, you can customise the email via all previous methods.
- You can either customise per course, policy or survey via the 'Email' tab.
- Or, you can customise the email template for all courses, policies and surveys via the Settings > 'Email Notifications' area.
3. Can I view all users' preferred languages?
Yes, administrators can view this information for all staff via the 'User Management' table.
- Navigate to User Management > Users.
- Select Column Visibility and enable the 'Language' option.
- Note: As this information is 'read only', admins cannot currently make any updates to it on behalf of the user.
4. Can I customise my email?
Yes, you can customise the email via all previous methods. You can either customise per course, policy or survey via the 'Email' tab.
